Robert L. Lawrence received his B.A. from UCLA with highest honors, and graduated in 1974 with honors from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley, where he was an Associate Editor of the California Law Review.

Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner of Gelles & Lawrence, where he was responsible for a broad range of sophisticated transactional matters, both in the business and real estate areas, focusing on representation of foreign companies and individuals.

Previous to that he was a corporate partner of Gelles, Singer & Johnson, a law firm which specialized in international tax and business transactions, after having been an associate with Greenberg & Glusker and Hardee, Barovick, Konecky & Braun.

He has had extensive experience in acquisition and disposition of companies and their assets, financing, licensing and distribution, and in the acquisition, disposition and financing of real estate assets.

He has developed substantial expertise in the negotiation of joint ventures, limited liability companies, partnerships and other entities involving multiple parties and has spoken before the Los Angeles County Bar on “Default Remedies and Dispute Resolution Devices in General Partnerships”.

From 1981 to 1990 he was a member of the Committee on International Business Law of the Corporation, Banking and Business Law Section of the American Bar Association and from 1987 to 1992 he was a member of the Steering Committee of the Commercial Development Subsection of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
